LPG Endermologie: how it works, sessions, prices, face or body

LPG endermologie is a mechanical skin treatment: a motorised treatment head gently draws the skin in, rolls it and releases it to stimulate the tissues, with no needles and no surgery. It is used on the body (cellulite, firmness, a feeling of lighter legs) as well as on the face (radiance, firmness, fine lines). This guide explains how it works, how many sessions to plan, what it costs and what it does not do.

How does LPG work?

LPG is a mechanical palpate-and-roll technique. The head of the device, fitted with motorised rollers and flaps, takes hold of a fold of skin, mobilises it and releases it continuously. This stimulation targets the cells of the skin and of the tissue beneath it. The treatment is non-invasive: no needles, no injected product, no downtime.

The technique was developed in France by the LPG company, founded in 1986, which made it its registered trademark, endermologie®. The manufacturer describes a stimulation that “reactivates” several types of cells: fibroblasts, which produce collagen and elastin, and adipocytes, which store fat.

What sets LPG apart from a manual palpate-and-roll massage is consistency. The device applies a set pressure and rhythm, identical from one session to the next, and the practitioner adjusts these settings to each area. It also makes it possible to treat narrow or sensitive areas that are hard to work on by hand.

LPG for the body or LPG for the face: what is the difference?

LPG for the body and LPG for the face rely on the same principle but not the same heads or the same goals. The body treatment works on cellulite, firmness and the figure, usually in an endermowear suit. The face treatment works on radiance, firmness and fine lines with a smaller head, on clean skin with all make-up removed.

Choosing between the two, or combining them, depends on your goal: the decision is made at the assessment, with the practitioner.

How many LPG sessions does it take to see results?

It generally takes a full course to see clear results. As a guide, the manufacturer counts around 12 sessions for the face and 12 to 20 for the body, the upper end of the range applying to people with unstable hormonal profiles. Smoother or firmer skin can be felt from the first few sessions; maintenance sessions follow.

The exact number depends on the assessment: your goal, the area, your age, your hormonal profile, your lifestyle. The frequency is also decided at the assessment. What matters most is regularity: sessions spaced out at random achieve less than a consistent course.

At Vernal, LPG packages come in 10 sessions, for the face as well as the body. The number of sessions you need is decided at the assessment, with the practitioner.

How much does an LPG session cost?

The price of an LPG session depends on the area, the length and the format: single session or package. At Vernal, in Tangier, a 30-minute LPG face session costs 300 dh and a 40-minute LPG body session 400 dh. With a 10-session package, it comes to 250 dh per face session and 350 dh per body session.

What are the benefits of LPG?

LPG works mainly on the appearance of the skin and on comfort. On the body, it targets cellulite, firmness, the figure and a feeling of lighter legs. On the face, it targets radiance, firmness, fine lines, puffiness and dark circles. Many people also describe the session as a moment of relaxation.

What LPG does not do: it is not a weight-loss method. The manufacturer says so itself. The treatment can support a return to exercise or a change in lifestyle, but diet, physical activity and, if needed, medical follow-up remain what leads to lasting weight loss. Results vary from one person to another, depending on metabolism, hormonal profile and how regular the sessions are. Vernal makes no promise of measurable results.

Why are some LPG reviews negative?

Disappointed reviews of LPG often come from an expectation it cannot meet, such as losing kilos, or from sessions too few or too far apart to judge. Next come mild, temporary reactions: redness, warmth, a tender area. An honest assessment at the start avoids most of these disappointments.

For LPG on the face in particular, the result is gradual: the first session mostly gives a “healthy glow” effect. Judging the treatment on a single session means judging it too soon. Conversely, if an area feels uncomfortable, say so during the session: the practitioner will lower the intensity.

Who should not have LPG?

Certain situations rule out LPG, at least temporarily: active cancer (unless you have written medical approval), anticoagulant treatment, blood disorders, an inflammatory or infectious flare-up, infection, skin rash. A prior assessment with the practitioner is there to check for them. If in doubt, ask your doctor’s advice.

  • Pregnancy: slimming treatments serve no purpose during pregnancy. The manufacturer allows face treatments or leg drainage; ask your doctor’s advice first.
  • After giving birth: wait for your first period after childbirth and two cycles, with the approval of a healthcare professional if necessary.
  • Before or after surgery: your surgeon’s approval is essential.

Frequently asked questions

Does LPG hurt?

Generally not. It feels like a deep palpate-and-roll massage, with vibrations. Fibrous or sensitive areas can be uncomfortable in the moment; the practitioner then turns the suction down. Many people find the session relaxing.

Can I have an LPG session during my period?

It is not contraindicated, but a body session during your period can increase the flow. The face treatment is not affected. If you would rather reschedule, simply let the centre know.

Are there any side effects after a session?

They are rare and temporary: slight redness, a feeling of warmth or tenderness in certain areas, which fade on their own. LPG for the face involves no downtime: you can go back to your activities straight away.
